LIVING SOIL WINES 2024 RED BLEND
We sourced grapes from two vineyards in California. The Grenache, Cinsault and Counoise come from Paicines Ranch. The Syrah comes from a small estate vineyard in Los Olivos. We sourced from these vineyards due to the focus and commitment to regenerative practices and soil health.
LIVING SOIL WINES 2025 ROSE of Syrah
This vintage was sourced from a few acres of Syrah on a private estate in Los Olivos. The vineyard was planted in 2002 and has been grown organically. Most of the vineyard is planted to clone 174. The original plant material came from Zaca Mesa (the oldest Syrah site in Santa Barbara County). The vineyard is managed by Natalie and Ryan, of Outward Wines. They started managing the vineyard in 2021 with regenerative practices.
Soil Health
By nurturing the soils microbiome, we are creating a self sustaining ecosystem, capable of greater water holding capacity, nutrient uptake and synergistic relationship with the surrounding environment. A holistic approach that focuses on soil health is supporting plant, animal and human life.
Natalie and Ryan, the winemakers at Outward and vineyard managers of various central coast vineyards. They are dedicated to Regenerative and Holistic Management and make their own natural wines.
From the Vineyard to Winery
We love collaborating with everyone, from the field to the winery.
I first learned how to make wine from my dad. Growing up he would make wine at home. Since then we’ve had a fun winemaking journey sourcing grapes from all over the central coast.
Our first winery was in the Santa Cruz Mountains, focused on making pinot noir from the surrounding vineyards. We wonder if our little winery could have been the smallest bonded winery in the world, it was a ten square foot building in my backyard.
Our operation moved to Southern California in 2012, where we met Shaun, a brilliant winemaker.
It’s been an evolution since the beginning. We now only source from vineyards with regenerative practices and make natural wine. Most of our fruit is sourced from the most diverse vineyard at Paicines Ranch in Central California.
The Vineyard Team at Paicines Ranch with Kelly, Colden and Matt. We have learned so much from them about the challenges and rewards of working with the ecosystem. They are dedicated to learning and teaching others about holistic management and soil health.
Shaun, a brilliant winemaker, who wears many hats in the wine industry. With his degree in Enology/Viticulture from UC Davis, he is the head winemaker at Camarillo Custom Crush Winery and Owner/Producer of his own award winning label, Consensio Cellars.
Over the years with family and friends….from our tiny winery in Santa Cruz and beyond
